Assessing Risky Behaviors Related to Child Sexual Abuse
Claims of child abuse and molestation are in the news every day, often reporting multi-million-dollar settlements against schools. The current climate is demanding a shift in focus from abuse at home to abuse at school and from reporting to prevention. We are pleased to offer you the Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Webinar Series with Diane Cranley which will introduce specific steps to create an environment where child molesters virtually cannot succeed without being caught and therefore won’t want to work.
This seven-part webinar series will cover eight informed best practices including an in-depth look at child protection-focused applicant screening processes and boundary policies that will significantly lower the risk of a child in your care being sexually abused. Please watch the short video (see link above) for a sneak peak of the webinar series. More information is available on the attached series summary.
Please join us for Webinar #5 on Wednesday, February 21st from 10:00–11:00am.
Presentation Description: It’s common to hear bystanders share their memories
of specific instances of concerning behavior after an allegation of sexual abuse
comes to light, but hindsight doesn’t protect children. As we implement boundaries that intercede with grooming behaviors in our schools, we need a mechanism for individuals to report observed violations, so they can be addressed. We also need a centralized repository of these reports which creates visibility to patterns of behavior which are likely to lead to abuse without proactive intervention. This session will explore how to create an effective feedback process that becomes part of the culture of your school community.
Who Should Attend: Principals, Administrators, Risk Managers, HR Managers,
